Some great news for us at ANA with young gun Elliot Frendo joining us for the 2020/2021 season!
After his older brother Matt Frendo brought him down to the club from Kilmore as a junior in the 2016/17 season, Elliot’s skills shone through very quickly, scoring a hundred in his fourth game at the club in the under 17s. That year saw him score another ton, ending the season with a healthy average of 48 with the bat. Elliot carried on that batting form into the seconds, scoring a very impressive 50 not out.
Not only can the young man hold a bat, but his natural ability with ball in hand saw him take a brilliant 5/11 in the 1sts against the eventual runners-up of that season.
After playing a few games at ANA in the following season, Elliot took on coaching commitments at Assumption College, Kilmore. Over the past couple of seasons, he has coached the year 10 cricket team – he was also assistant coach for the 1sts team who impressively won the National Marist Carnival which is played between grammar schools across Australia. With this experience, Elliot is looking forward to returning to the club and completing his Uni studies in Footscray, all whilst still living in Kilmore!
Much like his Dad Ray Frendo and brother Matt, Elliott has an exceptional temperament and is a well respected person within the ANA family. We are excited to have him back in the blue and gold, and are really looking forward to seeing him at the top of his bowling mark on a pristine resurfaced Angliss Reserve this season! Welcome back Elliot, ‘The Better Frendo!’
